ACI Certifications

CCPI is the only local sponsoring group in Hawaii authorized to administer testing for ACI Certifications.  These programs are designed to form a minimum qualification for personnel employed within the concrete construction industry. Certification examinations and optional training courses are conducted throughout the year.  Click on the links below to access the registration forms and additional information.  Email kirk@ccpihawaii.org with the title in the subject line to inquire about the certifications listed below without a link.

Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to properly perform the seven (7) basic field ASTM tests on freshly mixed concrete.

Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to properly perform, record, and report the results of four (4) basic ASTM laboratory procedures related to the determination of concrete compressive and flexural strengths.

All other certifications are scheduled on an “as-needed” basis when there is sufficient interest to justify conducting the exam.  Certification exams require personal review and self-study.  CCPI may conduct review sessions.  Review session attendance is not required before taking the exam.  Please email kirk@ccpihawaii.org for information on test dates, pricing and registration.

Concrete Flatwork Finisher and Technician

Understands the proper procedures and techniques for placing, finishing, jointing, curing, and protection of concrete flatwork.

Concrete Construction Special Inspector & Associate

Qualifies to inspect and record the results of concrete construction inspection based on codes and job specifications.  The program covers inspection during pre-placement, placement, and post-placement operations.

Concrete Transportation Construction Inspector & Associate

Demonstrates the knowledge in concrete inspection methods for transportation projects, including preplacement, placement, and post-placement operations.

Specialty Commercial/Industrial Concrete Flatwork Finisher

Demonstrates a basic knowledge of finishing procedures for high tolerance floor construction, application of surface treatments, and silica fume concrete, and who has demonstrated skill in operating mechanized finishing equipment.

Tilt-Up Supervisor & Technician

Demonstrates the proficiency in and an understanding of overall on-site administrative and technical management for producing tilt-up projects.

Adhesive Anchor Installer

Demonstrates the ability to read, comprehend, and execute instructions to properly install adhesive anchors in concrete. The AAI must also demonstrate possession of the knowledge to properly assess ambient conditions, concrete condition, materials, equipment, and tools for installing adhesive anchors and determine when it is appropriate to proceed with installation of an adhesive anchor or when additional guidance from a supervisor/foreman/project engineer is needed.

Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1

Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to properly perform, record, and report the results of basic field and laboratory procedures for aggregates.

NRMCA Certifications

CCPI is the only local sponsoring group in Hawaii to administer NRMCA Certifications.  The goal of this certification program is to ensure that knowledgeable contractors are selected to place the product and thereby minimize the chance for failure.

 

Pervious Concrete Technician  

Demonstrates the knowledge of the proper procedures to place, compact, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect pervious concrete pavements.  

 

Pervious Concrete Installer

Demonstrates the ability to place, compact, finish, edge, joint, cure and protect pervious concrete pavements and has documented a limited project-based field experience in placing pervious concrete.
